an idea
can gods get amnesia?
what happens when one does? how does he get it?
what if Thor lost his memory? how would it happen and why? obviously loki would have to be partially responsible. i forsee a conflict between his wife and his mistress (who'd a thought). one should have conspired with loki to kill thor (obviously that failed) and the other should find him and work to save him and his memory.
i am thinking he is found and has total memory loss though not a scratch on him (it's that god invulnerablity/ easy healing bit). he is in a mall food court type place with his new friends and one notices a woman staring at him like she's seen a ghost (surprise).
this will be either his wife or mistress (to be determined). she mouths "thor" and walks up to him. he asks if he knows her and she replies with "do you have a tattoo of an hammer on the inside of your right wrist"
he does. it's actually where he stores mjollnir. (magik is cool) he refuses to believe at first *gasp*.
...after that i have no clue what happens. obviously she tells him. they run about a bit, mostly hiding from loki and his buddy (wife/mistress), until thor regains his memory.
hmm...
whaddya ya'll think? and who do you think should be trying to kill him and who trying to save him?

I like this. Here's an idea as to how amnesia happens to a god: mayhap Odin got fed up with his hotheaded son and "bestowed" the amnesia on him as an attempt to smarten him up (Odin HUNG HIMSELF ON A TREE FOR THREE DAYS, he's obviously a little sketchy on appropriate learning methods . . . ) Then Loki takes advantage of the situation to try and kill Thor ('cos he's Loki, and last I talked to him he was still reeeeeeaaaallly pissed about the whole unbreakable-chain-and-venemous-serpent thing, which Thor was in on even though they were supposed to be friends . . .).
I'd imagine that on the side of "not-friends-of-Thor" would be his daughter ("Da! You turned my fiance to STONE!!"), and mayhap the other Valkyries as they all seem to stick together (plus, if Thor dies he gets to come to Valhalla with them, and sure they SAY they're "virgin godesses of war" an' all, but I just wonder . . . ).
For the saving-Thor side you could prolly recruit Hod, sure he's the god of winter but a nice chap really. Unfortunately stone blind and also dead, so not really too helpful. But a nice chap anyways. Just don't ever play at darts with 'im. I warned you.
